Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose on Thursday accompanied Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on last minute campaign tours to parts of Lagos State.

Adeniran stated this while addressing a press conference in Lagos on Thursday ahead of the March 18th governorship election in the state.

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has alleged that there was widespread rigging and electoral malpractices during the Presidential and National Assembly (NASS) elections in the state.

“The talks about violence, I have seen a few of these reports and I do not deny that. But to say that this election has been characterised by violence, nobody can justifiably say so. Yes, a few isolated cases but all of the things we saw were significant departures from the past.”

“For me, I have no cause to doubt the courts. It’s we the politicians that are bent on corrupting every aspect of our national life”

“I am confident in the judiciary. I am because I have stayed in court for three years when people said it’s impossible for you to become a governor through the court and I became the first. Remember I was impeached and again the court brought me back.”

The Lagos State governorship candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has said that he was not given the opportunity to contest in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said it did not remove the names of Igbo and South South people from the list of ad hoc staff for Saturday’s Governorship and House of Assembly elections in Lagos State.

“I am supporting candidates; I am not doing any political party for now, I am supporting candidates.”

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has advised politicians who didn’t win in the presidential and National Assembly polls and those that might not succeed in their ambitions in the forthcoming governorship and state assembly elections to consider doing business or other areas of interest.
