The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has denounced an online report accusing its Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu of attempts to violate its guidelines and consequently distort the Governorship election result in Abia State.

Prof. Sani Yahya, the governorship candidate of New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) in Taraba, has rejected the outcome of the gubernatorial election in the state.

DELTA State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, Tuesday, said said there is a victor but no vanquished in the March 18th gubernatorial election and urged those who contested the election with the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori to put behind the bitter experiences that characterised the campaign.

Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto and President General Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has congratulated Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for his victory as Governor-elect in Sokoto State.

Ashiru noted that the dedication, commitment, and confidence shown on him by all, including political colleagues, truly humbled him.
