Chieftain and former House of Assembly aspirant, Ughelli North Constituency 1, under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta state, Mr. Oke Umurhohwo has congratulated Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and his Deputy, Chief Monday Onyeme over their overwhelming victory as the winner of the just concluded governorship election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer for the State, Professor Georgewill Owuneri Abraham, had on Monday declared Oborevwori as the Governor-elect, as he edged out his closest rival, Ovie Omo-Agege to the topmost political seat in the state after polling 360,234 votes to 240,229 votes.

In a congratulatory message by Mr. Umurhohwo, he described the victory of Oborevwori and Onyeme as a mark of acceptance of the incredible progress recorded by the state under amiable governor Ifeanyi Okowa on the need for continuity.

Umurhohwo who lauded electorates in Delta for rejecting the crafty plot to unwind the gains of the past, stressed that the election of Oborevwori is a strong pointer to a greater Delta.

“The victory of Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori in the Delta State Governorship election is a huge win for everyone. It marks a great step forward to the realization of a greater Delta, and I am deeply proud of our people for making this bold choice,” Mr. Umurhohwo noted in his message.

“Oborevwori’s victory reinvigorate a sense of continuity and progress for Delta State and its people. This will be a continuation of the monumental progress experienced with Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, be it in the economy, welfare, infrastructural developments, and in helping our people live a better life.

“On behalf of my family and supporters, I congratulate the Governor-elect on his victory. I join the entire people of Delta State in sharing in the excitement and great hopes that his emergence inspires, and pray for God’s guidance and strength in delivering the desired governance for the people of Delta.”
